VirtualBox 2.2 update loses network

I discovered today weird problem, not sure if it is related to my Windows XP setup or just a bug on VirtualBox but anyway I lost all network interfaces after updating from 2.1 version to 2.2 version.
It is possible that the problem is in VMWare virtual network adapter because after I disabled VMWare virtual network adapters in Network Neighbourhood and re-run setup in repair mode it seemed to fix problem.
Anyway, Now I am happy VirtualBox user. I am still puzzled if I like it more than VMWare, maybe I do…

Update: as in 13th of April it seems that VirtualBox 2.2.0 build has many bugs. I recommend waiting bug fix patch for it before installing. Release 2.1 is much more stable. I recommend using it.

SEO and Meta tags

Is there really need for any kind of Meta tags on the websites? It seems that SEO experts keeps pushing website authors to create meta keywords and descriptions. Sometimes they also push Dublin Core and even more detailed meta tags but for as far as I understand this is complete waste of time.
I am not an expert in this field so please correct me if I am wrong but it seems that all major search engine robots ignores meta tags, I am not sure though if they read it in some level but I doubt they do. At least Meta Keywords are nowdays ignored completely.
Second, how about so called “SEO friendly URL’s” is it still relevant having keywords on URL?

For example:
If I have 3 URL’s

index.html?id=123
/archives/123/
/tourism/europe/spain/barcelona/picasso-museum/

Which one of these is the most friendly for robots? Usually it is recommended not to use query strings in URL’s but is this the case still?

If you know answer for my questions please drop me a line…

Google has release developer friendly G1 which is completely unlocked with only 399 USD thats like 2.50 EUR these days… but there is a catch… They charge loads with shipping costs outside of US. Quite weird if they have US shipping for free but to:
to Canada $264
to Spain: $268
to India: $224
to France $183

Whoo… I almost subscribed to Android developers but I guess I will go to E71 after all, it seems E71 is the best phone for my needs.

dotNetCal moving slowly

My calendar project hasnt been very active lately. Mainly because I started new job at the company called addition here in Copenhagen, but Jode is developing like maniac. Last I heard we are now supporting plug-ins and soon we are able to export data in from ical,vcal or xcal.
There has been some talk that we are going to implement calendar and scheduling engine as an extension for SharePoint. I think this will be cool project. However we should now just focus on getting first release out so you can test and play around with it.

Web is full of controversial information about calendaring and on this conclusion. I decide to make some link library (Mainly for my own reference) related to calendaring and scheduling.

With my dotNetCal project I have faced a lot of difficulties to follow standards on calendaring data, and since I always seem to end up making things more complicated than they should actually be I’ve been using the xCal standard as the xml schema for transforming events. Thought, xCal seem to have its own limitations and there is no other standard available for building group calendaring application.

For example Microsoft Outlook uses vCal as a data format which is from year 1 or something. There is of course update for vCal called iCal which stands for Internet Calendaring. That was made something like million years ago (My time started 1998 when w3c publish XML1.0 recommendation )
