IE7 Rumors

Sunday, February 15th, 2004

I was reading web blogs regarding rumors about upcoming IE7. There wasn’t much info about it but this is what I found so far.
Yes, it seems that there will be IE7 after all. Microsoft says that a new version of Internet Explorer will appear with the next version of Windows in 2005. That will be a last version of Internet Explorer. :( MSN explorer is planned to take over when the IE line ends. I have never liked MSN Explorer it’s somehow too much integrated. I feel I don?t have a control on web pages when surfing in MSN Explorer.

MYSQL 5 goes Stored Procedures

Thursday, February 12th, 2004

MYSQL version 5 includes bunch of new features. Most needed for me at least is Stored procedures. Stored procedures are based on the SQL:2003 standard. MYSQL team is also implementing a framework to hook in external languages, and (where possible) compatibility with, for example, PL/SQL and T-SQL.
Can’t wait final release :) More info at MYSQL website

Tuesday, February 10th, 2004

Finally I can skip Virtual PC’s for testing webpages on different versions of IE. This nice way to run multiple versions of Internet Explorer on the same machine is a result of the lawsuit that Microsoft lost.

Read here how to setup your computer run several browser versions.

The Accessibility Toolbar

Sunday, February 1st, 2004

I just found The Accessibility Toolbar, it works similar way as a Google toolbar for IE. With accessibility toolbar you get a range of tools like:
To examine discrete aspects (structure/code/content) of a html document
To facilitate the use of 3rd party applications
To simulate the user experience of different users
…along with a range of references and additional resources.
